FC Fast Nav
Make every page of your FluentCommunity site feel as fast as the portal – instant prefetch & prerender and smooth, app-like page transitions.
Your portal is instant. Now the rest of your site is too.
Inside the FluentCommunity portal, navigation feels instant because the portal is a single-page app. Every other page of your site – homepage, blog, landing pages, shop – still does a full reload, and members notice the jump. FC Fast Nav closes that gap without turning your site into an SPA.
Instant page loads
- Uses the browser’s built-in Speculation Rules: the next page is prefetched or fully prerendered while the visitor hovers or touches the link
- Prerendered pages open in an instant
- Separate modes for logged-out visitors and logged-in members, so each gets the right balance of speed and safety
- Choose when to start: on hover, or on click only to keep server load low
- On WordPress 6.8+ the core API is used, older versions get a built-in fallback
Smooth, app-like transitions
- Cross-document View Transitions fade between pages instead of flashing white
- The FluentCommunity top bar, sidebar and admin bar stay in place during the transition, just like inside the portal
- Add your theme header or any other element that should stay put
- Respects “reduced motion” settings
Built for FluentCommunity
- Never prerenders the portal itself, because its whole app would boot in the background. Portal links are prefetched only, or excluded completely.
- Inside the portal, only links to regular WordPress pages are preloaded. The portal router keeps handling its own links.
- Detects the portal path automatically, including portals running on the site root
- Works in headless and classic portal mode
Safe by design
- No click hijacking and no changes to your content. Browsers without support (e.g. Firefox) simply load pages normally.
- Admin-only test mode, plus a secret test link for testing logged out
- Circuit breaker: if anything goes wrong, the plugin switches itself off and your site keeps running
- Emergency kill switch in wp-config.php
- Admin, login and logout links, URLs with parameters, files and feeds are always excluded. Single links can be excluded with a CSS class.
- Status panel with a built-in Cloudflare Speed Brain check
And more
- Debug badge for admins that shows how each page was loaded
- Lightweight: a few lines of CSS and a JSON block, no JavaScript library
- Translation-ready: English and Czech included, .pot file for Loco Translate or Poedit
- Automatic updates from the WordPress dashboard with an active license
Requirements: WordPress 6.0+ (6.8+ recommended), PHP 7.4+, FluentCommunity 2.x. Full speed in Chrome and Edge; Safari 18.2+ supports the transitions.
